Recent Buys

I felt that my first proper blogpost should tell you a little more about myself so what better way than showing you what I have bought recently! I only managed to find one link to an item online when writing this post but all items have been bought in the last couple of weeks so should still be in stores. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Primark pumps: £6

These shoes were quite an impulse buy as I headed towards the tills in Primark. I haven't ever owned a pair of Vans or Vans lookalikes and at £6 they were inexpensive and seem to be of good quality. I love the way these look with skinny jeans or a pretty floral dress.

H&M jumper: £14.99

I know, I know I should be enjoying the summer and not buying autumnal clothes but I can never resist a grey cosy jumper! They are so easy to throw on when the weather gets colder and I have seen many similar jumpers priced higher than this one, H&M are really great for their reasonably priced knitwear items.

Primark flats: £6

I bought these flat shoes as a replacement for some I bought last year in Primark but these ones are so much more comfortable. The soles are cushioned to provide feet with a lot of support which is great for me as by the end of the day my feet usually ache pretty badly! The neutral colour of this pair makes them wearable with many outfits and I see myself getting a lot of wear out of them.

Primark shirt: £3

This shirt was a steal at only £3! I'm usually a size 8-10 in tops but I decided to risk buying this in a size 6 because of the price and how pretty the pattern on it is. I'm so glad I did as it looks great under dungarees when the weather has been cooler these last few days.

Primark top: £8

I was shopping with my mum when I came across this top and I have to admit she isn't a fan of it but she knows how much I love batman so knew I'd be buying it. The three quarter length sleeves are practical to wear in this warm weather we are having but can also be layered under a cardigan as we move into autumn.

Accessorize bag: £10.50

I bought this bag thinking that I was getting a real bargain but when I got home I realised the clasp was broken. Any rational person would probably have taken it back to the shop to get a refund but I loved it so much I asked my dad, who is really handy, to fix it for me. He attached this gold ring to it so it could properly close which I think looks as good as the original, thanks dad!

Dorothy Perkins clutch: £20

I bought this bag to go with the outfit I wore to an after-wedding party a few weeks ago. A plain black clutch is a staple item in any wardrobe and this one has a detachable chain so it can be used in different ways. It's a good sized bag for a night out and has a phone pocket inside which is really useful.

H&M dress: £14.99

I. Love. This. Dress. It's so easy to wear with a simple black waist belt and sandals, it is slightly longer at the back than the front which adds a little something different to a relatively simple dress. The floaty material makes it perfect for summer but I think it could be a piece that crosses over into autumn/winter when work with tights and a chunky knit cardigan.

I hope you enjoyed this look into the clothes I've bought recently, if you enjoy this kind of post then please let me know. Thank you for reading!

Hey & Welcome To My Blog!

My name's Claire and blogging is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time now. However having the confidence to begin and then start organising my ideas of what to actually blog about have held me back. But something about this unremarkable Tuesday afternoon has caused me to stop worrying about whether anyone will read these ramblings and just go ahead and put myself out there. I don't want to make this first post into a soppy, emotional speech about grabbing the bull by the horns, YOLO, seize the day etc., but I did think to myself why not? I love to write and I usually only get the opportunity to express my thoughts with my family and friends and I realised that I needed an outlet to express these musings of mine.

Primarily I want to write about fashion (outfit posts, hauls, weekly style favourites) but I do have other ideas that I feel I would love to include, I'm beginning my training to become an adult nurse in September so I may include posts relating to that and also other lifestyle posts that I hope people will find interesting. Beauty posts may pop here and there but I have to confess that my knowledge in this area has come from reading beauty blogs and being subscribed to many beauty related YouTube channels! I love charity shops and car boot sales for finding home furnishings and I have an interest in doing up vintage furniture so that is something I hope to pursue further and include on the blog.

So there you have it, my first blog post! Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog it is really appreciated. Aaaand breathe :)
